Although sources state that Nicolas Jackson’s ankle injury is being evaluated daily, he is anticipated to travel with Chelsea to the United States for their preseason tour.
As the Blues get ready for a very intense preseason, they are wrapping up their second week of training under Enzo Maresca and departing for America on Monday. There, they will play matches against Wrexham, Club America, Celtic, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
Although it has been rumored that Enzo Fernandez would participate, it is not anticipated that players like Cole Palmer, Marc Cucurella, and Conor Gallagher will return to the tour after their exploits at Euro 2024.
Jackson being assessed day by day
Maresca has benefited greatly from having virtually the entire team at his disposal since the first day of preseason training.
Supporters have been treated to a glimpse of injured talents Reece James, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, and Wesley Fofana working together, while it seems the new players are settling in nicely.
Jackson, though, has raised some eyebrows. According to Mail Sport writer Kieran Gill, the striker hasn’t participated in full squad training yet because of an ankle injury that is being monitored daily.
He posted on X.com, saying:
“The complete itinerary for Chelsea’s tour has not yet been finalized, but Nicolas Jackson has stated that he intends to travel with the team.”
“Not seen in Cobham’s full squad training because of a daily assessment of an ankle ailment. In less than a month, the #CFC season begins against Man City.
The Senegal international was said to have had an ankle injury evaluated in London earlier this summer, after he hobbled out of a World Cup qualifier last month with what was then termed as a “severe sprain.”
The Senegalese player appears to be prepared for the start of the season, but in order to guarantee he’s in peak form for the opening game of the new league, it’s imperative he gets some match experience under his belt in America.
