Following an undefeated campaign in both the group stage and Super 8s, Team India has advanced to the T20 World Cup semifinals. Nevertheless, they will have to overcome the reigning champions England in the semi-finals, thus the path to the coveted ICC trophy won’t be simple. For Indian supporters, this match would bring back a lot of painful memories from when Team India lost the T20 World Cup semifinal match against England by 10 wickets earlier in 2022.
Under the famous captaincy of MS Dhoni, India won the first-ever T20 World Cup in 2007. Dhoni donned the captain’s hat for the first time and went on to become India’s most successful captain. Yograj Singh, the father of former Indian batter Yuvraj Singh, has made a harsh statement against the 42-year-old player.
Yograj expressed his excitement for Team India to win the World Cup in a video that went popular on social media, particularly without Dhoni. He went on to say that players like Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir have also made remarks criticizing the captain of the Chennai Super Kings.
“I want India to win because I’m Indian. Now that MS Dhoni is not playing, India should win the World Cup. Dhoni nahi hai, phir jeet jayenge. It’s what everyone is saying. Yograj said, “It’s also being mentioned by Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir.
He continued by saying that Dhoni’s wrongdoings were the reason CSK lost the 2024 IPL. In addition, he said that Dhoni was “jealous” of Yuvraj.
“IPL 2024 was lost by CSK. What caused their defeat? You will harvest what you sow, as the saying goes. Bravo to Yuvraj Singh, the ICC Ambassador! And where’s this envious Dhoni? “This year, CSK failed because he refused to even shake hands with Yuvraj,” he said.
Speaking of Team India, on Thursday in Guyana, Rohit Sharma and company will play England in the semi-final. Afghanistan and South Africa will play in the first semi-final match in Trinidad earlier in the day.
