Star India batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were spotted bursting with laughter seeing a Lagaan inspired poster of team India.
In Short
- Kohli and Rohit laugh out loud seeing their poster
- A fan had made a Lagaan themed poster of team India
- India lost to Sri Lanka by 32 runs in 2nd ODI
During the second ODI between Sri Lanka and India, prominent Indian cricket players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were seen laughing uncontrollably at their “Lagaan Themed” banner being hoisted by a fan. Remarkably, the pair was observed beforehand warming up on the boundary line at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo when they saw a unique poster being carried by a spectator.
As players prepared to take the field ahead of the game, Kohli noticed a billboard where a fan had altered the players’ appearances to resemble characters from the well-known Bollywood cricket film “Lagaan.” The great batter laughed when he saw the poster and encouraged India captain Rohit Sharma to look at it as well.
The actor Aamir Khan’s portrayal of Bhuvan, portrayed by Rohit Sharma, was arguably the most visually arresting aspect of the poster. The captain of India was shocked to see his image on the poster and started laughing along with Kuldeep Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and other players. Specifically, Kohli was observed laughing too much.
India lose second ODI by 32 runs
India lost by 32 runs in the second One-Day International against Sri Lanka. After choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka amassed a respectable 240/9 in the fifty overs that were given to them. Their best scorers were Kamindu Mendis (30 off 42) and Avishka Fernando (40 off 62).
With stats of 3/30 in 10 overs, Washington Sundar was India’s best bowler, while Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2/33 in the same ten overs. India responded with an equally impressive start, led by skipper Rohit, who produced his second half century of the series (64 off 44). But after being removed from the game, Jeffrey Vandersay wrecked havoc on the Indian batting line, recording his best-ever ODI bowling stats of 6/33 in 10 overs.
With his 44(44) innings, Axar Patel was the only one to demonstrate some resistance; the rest were unable to help him. With one game remaining in the series after the first game ended in a stalemate, Sri Lanka went on to win the match and take a 1-0 lead. The series’ third and last One-Day International (ODI) will take place in Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium on Wednesday, August 7.
