A controversy took place during the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday. At R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, during the second One-Day International between India and Sri Lanka, there was a dispute. Virat Kohli was caught by a delivery from Akila Dananjaya just in front of the stumps on the last ball of the 15th over, and the umpire waved the Sri Lankan players’ LBW appeal.
After speaking with Shubman Gill, the non-striker, Kohli headed upstairs. A review placed the third umpire in a difficult situation. This is because, although the images demonstrated that there was a good space between the bat and the ball during that moment, the UltraEdge displayed a spike as the ball crossed Kohli’s bat before reaching his pad.
In Sunday’s second ODI in Colombo, leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay led the way with outstanding figures of 6/33 as Sri Lanka defeated India by 32 runs.
Axar Patel scored 44 in the same number of deliveries, while India’s captain Rohit Sharma scored 64 in 44 balls. In 42.2 overs, India was all out for 208 runs.
Earlier, Sri Lanka finished at 240 for nine thanks to an outstanding bowling display from India.
Their top scorers were Avishka Fernando (40 off 62 balls) and Kamindu Mendis (40 off 44 balls), while the tourists’ best scorer was Washington Sundar (3/30).
In the last ten overs, Mendis and Dunith Wellalage (39 off 35 balls) tried to quicken their pace as Lanka added a few more runs to the total.
The player of the match was declared to be Jeffrey Vandersay. “A lot of pressure was applied to the side. I recently got out of a layoff. It’s easy to claim credit when I don’t have to accomplish stuff. I also want to acknowledge the hitters. They scored 240 runs, which made it easier for me to bowl well,” he remarked.
“I must always challenge myself and attempting to hit the excellent spots since there was help in the wicket. I felt more confident when I grabbed my maiden wicket. Thankfully, I managed to claim six wickets,” Vandersay continued.
