Mohammed Shami, the star bowler for the Indian cricket team, is preparing for a big return. Since the 2023 ODI World Cup, Mohd. S hasn’t played in any matches. After suffering a knee injury, he is almost finished with his recovery. Mohd. S is reportedly eager to return, this time for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy.
Mohammed Shami is reportedly expected to play in Bengal’s debut match on October 11 against Uttar Pradesh. Whether he will be available to play against Bihar on October 18 is still to be determined. Shami is still questionable for the Test series between Bangladesh and India. Additionally, it is quite possible that the star pacer would be used in both games given that the two Ranji matches are scheduled to take place in a span of two days.
Shami will get his wish and increase his prospects of returning to international cricket by participating in the domestic competitions. Shami is anticipated to play for the Indian team against New Zealand.
Beginning on October 19, Rohit Sharma and company will play the Black Caps. Two more Test matches are scheduled for October 24 and November 1. Shami must play for Bengal in their first Ranji Trophy encounter if he wants to participate in the opening IND vs. NZ Test match.
It is quite improbable that Shami would compete in the Duleep Trophy given his current state of infirmity. Shami is therefore not expected to be selected for the next IND vs. BAN Test series.
