After the game, MI squad coach Sachin Tendulkar praised Pandya and Co. on X, the old name of Twitter. “After a challenging start to the competition, @mipaltan has now won two straight. He commented, “@Jaspritbumrah93 was incredible, demonstrating once more why he’s the finest in the industry.
Through their courageous batting throughout the powerplay overs, @ImRo45 and @ishankishan51 successfully lowered the needed run rate. Seeing @surya_14kumar smash the ball so beautifully following his injury layoff was encouraging. It’s great to have him back on the squad and performing at his best. @hardikpandya7 “Iceing the cake in style was the perfect way to end the game,” he continued.
With four points from five games—two victories and three losses—MI is now ranked seventh in the IPL 2024 points standings following the victory. RCB, meanwhile, has two points from six games and is ranked ninth.
“It’s always nice to win,” MI skipper Pandya remarked following the game. We have won in a really amazing way. Impact Player has granted us permission to utilize an additional bowler should the need arise. It also provides me with a cushion. At the same time, it enables us to cover those overs if someone is having a rough day. Given the way Ro and Kishan batted and provided the platform, it was critical that we complete it ahead of schedule.
