The hero of the Rajasthan Royals, Riyan Parag, shocked everyone by declaring that he will not even watch the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The opening game of the month-long T20 World Cup 2024 is the encounter between the United States and Canada. But before the Indian cricket team can start playing in the event, they will have to wait a few more days. On June 5, Rohit Sharma’s squad is supposed to play Ireland. All-rounder Riyan Parag of the Rajasthan Royals revealed that he doesn’t even want to watch the T20 World Cup this time, despite the fact that Indian supporters are crossing their fingers for the team.
Prior to the announcement of the 15-man roster for the T20 World Cup, Parag’s name was included among the probables. He had a good Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
In an honest interview, Parag stated that if he had been playing in the T20 World Cup, he would have been concerned about it. He hasn’t shown much interest this year.
As prejudiced as my forecast of the top four teams may be, the truth is that I don’t even want to watch the World Cup. I’ll be content as long as I can see who comes out on top in the end. In a conversation with The Bharat Army, Parag stated, “I will consider finishing in the top four when I play in the World Cup.”
Riyan has been a fascinating figure, frequently becoming the target of trolling for remarks he has made in interviews and on social media. He mostly let his bat do the talking in this year’s IPL, and the outcomes were outstanding. The cricketer from Assam recently talked openly about his aspirations to play for Team India, stating that the selectors will eventually have to pick him.
You’ll have to take me somewhere eventually, right? I will thus play for India, according to my belief. In an interview with PTI, Parag had said, “I don’t really care when.”
