In preparation for the T20 World Cup, Team India has begun training after the first two groups of players arrived in the USA. The first few players to go to the USA for the massive ICC tournament were Rohit Sharma and other important players like Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Mohammed Siraj. Along with the initial group of players, Rahul Dravid and other members of the coaching staff traveled.
Stars from the Rajasthan Royals who participated in the IPL 2024 playoffs, including Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, traveled to New York on Monday night to join other celebrities.
According to pictures Bumrah and Suryakumar posted of their first practise, in which Indian celebrities were seen jogging and playing football, the players have already begun their training.
But senior player Virat Kohli hasn’t taken a plane to the States yet. Kohli’s visa appointment has allegedly been rescheduled by the BCCI because he is slated to fly to the USA on May 30. It was also mentioned in an Indian Express article that he would miss India’s practice match against Bangladesh.
“The BCCI has postponed Kohli’s visa appointment since he had notified us well in advance that he would be joining the squad late. It is anticipated that he would depart for New York early on May 30. His request has been granted by the BCCI,” an authority informed the publication.
On Tuesday night in Mumbai, Kohli and Anushka Sharma were seen out to dinner. Former cricket player Zaheer Khan and his wife Sagarika Ghatge were also present.
against June 5, the Men in Blue will take against Ireland in the T20 World Cup at the recently built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Meanwhile, June 9 is the scheduled date of the much-awaited matchup with Pakistan. Their Group A matches will be concluded later on June 12 against the USA, the tournament co-host, and on June 15 against Canada.
