The wicket-keeping batsman for PBKS, Jonny Bairstow, is eager to give it his all when he faces his old team, SRH, in the brand-new Yadavindra International Stadium in Mullanpur. After two wins and two losses so far this season, Punjab and Hyderabad are ranked fifth and sixth in the IPL 2024 standings. Before moving to PBKS in 2022, Bairstow spent three seasons playing for SRH. He will be aiming to score against his old team.
Speaking in a video that PBKS posted on the social networking site “X,” Bairstow acknowledged that he had some incredible experiences with SRH but insisted that he would be trying to do his best while facing them. In three seasons, Bairstow scored 1138 runs for the SRH. At his peak, he scored 445 runs in 10 games in 2019 at an average of 55.62 and striking at 157.24, forming a lethal opening combo with David Warner.

“I had a lot of incredible moments playing with SunRisers Hyderabad. It was my first IPL with them, so it was a unique experience. Playing against them is therefore always possible. As time passes, you play for new teams. I’ll be trying to put in my best effort. Although I currently play for Punjab Kings, it’s always nice to meet old pals,” Bairstow remarked.
