In the thrilling match, SRH secured their third victory of the year and their first away from home thanks in large part to Bhuvneshwar. In four overs, the seasoned Indian pacer conceded just 32 runs while taking two wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin was surpassed by the 34-year-old to become the fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history.
Following Jonny Bairstow’s major wicket from Pat Cummins, Prabhsimran Singh and PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan were removed by Bhuvneshwar. Although Dhawan’s wicket was unusual, Henrick Klaasen’s superb wicket-keeping ensured a terrific stumping.
Dhawan’s removal was the first in eight years and only the ninth time in IPL history that a bowler was removed by a stumping. Being the first fast bowler in IPL history to record two stumpings, Bhuvneshwar has cemented his legacy in the annals of history.
