Head coach Stephen Fleming said on Saturday: Chennai Super Kings’ Ruduraj Gaekwad is cut from the same cloth as MS Dhoni, so it would be unfair to call the former player slow when it comes to batting. Gaekwad took over as the CSK captain at the start of the IPL and had a mixed start. They have lost two away games and won three at home. However, the 27-year-old Gaikwad has also come under fire for his “slow” batting style.
With a strike percentage of 117.42, the right-handed opening batsman has amassed 155 runs in five games thus far.
“Nothing is different. He is the epitome of cool. The last captain was, I know, very awesome. “But that’s rubbed through because this guy is cut from the same cloth,” Fleming replied when asked whether he and Gaikwad had discussed how to distinguish between the batsman’s and the leader’s roles.

“This young man is so amazing at what he does and how he plays the game. I believe he’s been unfairly placed in a category where others have labeled him as sluggish. But after CSK’s training session at the Wankhede Stadium, Fleming warned the reporters that some of these statistics needed context.
It’s known that getting these things on screen occasionally resembles a Bollywood film. However, he is alright. He’s handling the situation nicely. The most recent game (CSK vs. KKR) was a fantastic illustration of class and leadership in action. Regarding Ruturaj, I have zero doubts whatsoever,” Fleming continued.
Fleming made it clear that the five-time victors did not make this choice on the spur of the moment; rather, Ruturaj was named skipper.
“Hopefully. That’s the strategy, and it’s been successful thus far. The changeover has gone really well. We assess it differently, but he judges it by victories. He provides excellent team leadership. Like the last captain, I would think it would be, ideally, for many years,” Fleming continued.
The former captain of New Zealand claimed that CSK is the beneficiary of Dhoni’s sometimes overpowering fan base’s affection.
It’s very amazing, to be honest. The passion that… let’s be honest, India has for MS Dhoni is simply amazing, and we are benefactors of that, Fleming said.
When the squad wears a lot of yellow at an away game, they undoubtedly feel proud of themselves. When it’s not entirely yellow, it may be really overpowering. However, we don’t believe that it was developed by anybody or anything. We’re quite pleased with him and his contributions to the side. We see it as a great honor that individuals will show up and show their support for him; if not, then the team does. Fleming said, “We’re both extremely intimately tied.
A two-month IPL fix every year has become infectious, according to Fleming, but the league needs to constantly coming up with new ideas.
“It goes without saying that the fan base has expanded. The athletes’ abilities are developing. Specifically during the last five years, batting has changed at an extremely rapid pace,” he stated.

“From a skill perspective, the IPL challenge is for the bowlers to level the playing field a little bit.” As per the above rule, there is only one bouncer. Perhaps we should continue searching for alternatives to do it.” “It’s a fantastic boost for cricket because it turns into an intoxicating two months of fandom and support.” How then are you unable to love it?
Meanwhile, Mohammad Nabi of the Mumbai Indians stated that one of the most important things for the five-time champions to return to winning ways was to have the correct team composition.
We’ve won the previous two games because the bowling and batting groups’ ideas are coming together rather nicely. For the last two games, the team mix worked well, he added.
Nabi stated that an off-spinner’s task is more difficult at Wankhede Stadium due to the pitch’s characteristics.
“It’s very difficult to bowl as an off-spinner at Wankhede as a spinner.” There are many different types of leg-spinners, but it’s harder to bowl an off-spinner here, he added.
