In the middle order for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, veteran Dinesh Karthik proved to be the lone fighter, hammering home a rapid 35-ball 83 as his team miraculously chased 288 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League on Monday.
Karthik, 38, offered RCB a glimpse of victory with a knock that was truly magnificent, but his team ultimately completed the record pursuit at 262 for 7.
After the bowlers’ poor display, Karthik’s spectacular innings, which included five fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of over 237, was what cheered the downtrodden RCB supporters back to life.
