Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) broke the previous record when he scored his third half-century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. At this point in the IPL season, he has scored 400 runs.
The former captain of India also amassed 4,000 runs in the richest T20 event in the globe while opening the innings. Having played nine IPL 2024 matches, Kohli’s average is 61.43. In nine games this season, Kohli has accumulated 430 runs, with the top score being 113*.
However, Jaydev Unadkat’s slower bouncer quickly had Kohli at 51. While attempting a pull shot, Kohli struck a deep square leg instead. After hitting 51 runs off 43 pitches, the star hitter left the game.
In the contest on Thursday, Virat Kohli hammered a half-century in 37 balls. After Rajat Patidar departed after hitting 50 runs off 20 balls, he gripped one end tightly.
Despite the setbacks, RCB defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL encounter on Thursday, thanks to Virat Kohli’s tenacious fifty and Rajat Patidar’s forceful fifty off twenty.
Star batsman Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis chose to bat first, and they made sure to give RCB a good start with the bat as they pummelled the SRH spinners all over the pitch.

In Mayank Markande’s third over of the evening, Rajat Patidar unleashed a breathtaking assault, hitting the bowler for 27 runs. Along with hitting fifty in just 19 balls, star batsman Patidar also mentioned his partnership of fifty with Kohli.
After reaching fifty, Jaydev Unadkat took the crucial wicket for SRH by getting rid of the very effective Patidar on the very next ball.
After hitting 51 runs in 43 deliveries, Kohli was removed by Unadkat with a weak shot, despite smashing a tenacious fifty within 37 balls. Taking out Mahipal Lomror, Unadkat claimed his third wicket of the evening in his 100th IPL encounter.
After losing wickets at regular intervals, RCB was successful in scoring 206/7 in 20 overs.
