The Delhi Capitals’ hopes of making the IPL 2024 playoffs are in the balance, therefore the team is making every effort to maintain a positive atmosphere in the camp before their crucial back-to-back home games against the Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
Dehli has only won three of its eight games so far, enough for eighth place in the standings with six points. On April 24, Delhi will host Gujarat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, their home field.
Prior to last Wednesday’s game, DC shared a lighthearted video on social media in which seasoned starter David Warner can be seen mumbling some Hindi under false pretenses of accepting freebies or movie tickets.
Warner laughs and says “nahi yaar (no)” in response to each offer, eventually consenting to get his Aadhaar Card created for free.
Only citizens of India are eligible to apply for the 12-digit unique identifying number known as Aadhaar. Perhaps because of his lengthy affiliation with the Indian Premier League, which dates back to 2009 when he joined the Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals), Warner was humorously given the opportunity.
Warner joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014, where he went on to win the captain’s trophy in 2016. In 2022, with the breakdown of his connection with the Sunrisers, he returned to the Delhi franchise.
