It’s no secret that MS Dhoni is a famous figure in India. Additionally, the former captain is regarded as a demi-god in Chennai, the home of the Chennai Super Kings. CSK defeated Rajasthan Royals five wickets to complete their home league stage in IPL 2024 on Sunday.
There was much conjecture that Dhoni could have played his final IPL match at the Chepauk, since there were whispers that this might be his final season.
However, Dhoni is playing it close to the vest and hasn’t revealed that he is retiring just yet. Once ‘Thala’ makes the decision to hang up the bat, there’s little question that an ear will end.
A video of Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former cricket player turned pundit, paying tribute to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s legendary status was posted by the tournament’s official broadcaster.
MS Dhoni – The Mahi, The Myth, The Man
Sidhu said in the video, “The world submits to the powerful, not the weak. The thoughts are what matter. Humans can become gods or demons by their thoughts. Thoughts are the source of all wonders in the world. The true translators of your deeds are your thoughts.”
And Himalayan parvat, ek yugpurush, ye parikaashtha hai ki sakaraatmak hai. And an era will end when he gives up playing the game. Rarely does a woman give birth to a great man, and when that great man does, his reputation rises, his legend spreads like a cult, and it occurs every second. Great individuals are forever remembered in the world, much like an institution. Mortals like myself will pass away, but a legacy like Dhoni will live on and inspire future generations,” Sidhu continues.
After defeating the Royals, the defending champions CSK moved up to third place and are now in the running to qualify for the playoffs. They concluded their incredibly successful home leg by winning five of their seven games at the Chepauk.
