To meet the ICC deadline of May 1 for the provisional roster, the Indian cricket team’s 15-man lineup for the 2024 T20 World Cup is probably set by the end of April. India’s T20 World Cup roster is expected to include skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh.
The player’s IPL 2024 performance in the first four weeks of the current T20 season will determine whether five spots are left. The national selection committee is not going to add any fresh players for the T20 World Cup, a BCCI source informed news agency PTI.

“No trial and error or unexpected choices would be made. The BCCI official was cited by the news agency as stating, “All those who have played for India and have done well consistently in T20 Internationals and the IPL will be rewarded.”
Additionally, it has been claimed that starting captain Rohit Sharma and previous captain Virat Kohli may lead India in the 2019 T20 World Cup, which will begin on June 2 in the United States and the West Indies.
The IPL 2024 has already seen several outstanding individual performances from Indian players, but analysts and fans are still divided on who should be the backup opener, backup wicketkeeper, middle-order finisher, and backup spinner.
In order to choose the final 15, we take the last five spots from the ten competitors as the major ICC event draws near.

Shasvi Jaiswal vs. Shubman Gill
It is anticipated that the two young cricket players would fight for the position of backup opener. With his present form, Shubman Gill is probably chosen over Yashasvi Jaiswal, even though Rohit and Virat are the obvious choices. Gill, the captain of GT, has been playing well in the IPL 2024, amassing 263 runs in seven games, including two fifties. However, with only 121 runs in seven games during the current T20 competition, RR starter Jaiswal has struggled.
backup wicketkeeper of choice
Following a near-fatal automobile accident, DC captain Rishabh Pant made a stunning return in the IPL, almost guaranteeing his spot as the starting wicketkeeper for the 2018 T20 World Cup. In the meanwhile, another wicketkeeper is anticipated to be selected by India for the 15-man team. KL Rahul and Sanju Samson are the candidates for second-choice wicketkeeper. But so far in IPL 2024, Sanju has been playing better than Rahul. Rahul has scored 204 runs in seven matches, compared to 276 for Sanju. With his present form, Sanju may be chosen for the last 15.
Singh Rinku against Dube Shivam
The inclusion of Jaiswal and Gill in addition to Virat and Rohit as openers means that one player each from Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh may not make the 15-man Indian team. They may provide much-needed firepower down the order as finishers. For their respective IPL teams as well as the Indian cricket squad, Rinku and Shivam have been in excellent form. While KKR’s standout finisher Rinku has scored 83 runs at a strike rate of 162.74 and has looked excellent with the bat in his few chances, CSK’s Shivam has taken center stage after scoring 242 runs in the IPL 2024 at a strike rate of above 160.
Ravi Bishnoi vs Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal
While Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav are locks to be the third-choice spinners, one of the other two will be chosen. As the team’s lone leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal or Ravi Bishnoi might provide some variation. On present form, Chahal is probably the better option than Bishnoi. With 12 wickets in seven matches, the Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner is the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2024 after finding his groove. Ravi Bishnoi of LSG has only taken four wickets so far in the current Twenty20 competition. It is doubtful that Axar will be included with Jadeja on the team.

Avesh Khan – Arshdeep Singh
India will choose one more pacer in their final fifteen, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj almost certain. It is anticipated that Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh would fight for this position. The favored option is probably going to be Arshdeep Singh since the left-arm pacer adds more diversity to the Men in Blue’s bowling attack. In only seven IPL 2024 games, Arshdeep, who plays for the Punjab Kings, has already claimed nine wickets. Avesh Khan has taken seven wickets in as many games for LSG, making him a formidable wicket-taker. Avesh must, however, exert more effort and use more resources if he hopes to surpass Arshdeep in India’s final 15-man roster.
The following players are likely to represent India in the T20 World Cup 2024: captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh.
