Although Suryakumar said that he felt powerless as he watched Mumbai lose their first three games, he is now prepared to lead his team to victory.
“It’s always difficult sitting and watching when your team is playing,” he stated. “Because I was going to bed on time, I saw half of the games by 10:30 or 10:30. I used to watch around half of the game. Next time, of course, I’d watch the entire game.
“It was difficult, but it gave me a lot go motivation and inspiration looking at them that they’re playing there, and I have to work hard on my recovery to get there as soon as possible.”
After his first training session last week, how did he feel?
“I felt like I was here since the IPL started,” he stated. “I’ve always aimed to improve upon myself. My injuries made me aware of the areas I needed to improve. I had two or three months to focus on improving my physical health. There were moments when I felt frustrated, but the trainers and physiotherapists helped me since they knew how I like to work.”
